Question:
Pointer Brothers,
The weather is changing and football season is right around the corner. I know it’s a treat to have both a grand prix and a full slate of football on Sunday, but how do I manage my time in front of the tube? The old lady isn’t exactly pleased when I spend all day on the couch. Thanks for the help.

Answer:
Thanks for the question, Loyal Reader. The leaves are changing colors, beer is being ruined with pumpkin spice and we can no longer make plans on Sundays. Fall Sundays are tailor-made for plopping down on the couch and watching sports all day, so don’t feel guilty. As for managing the expectations of your old lady, that’s another story. Odds are you are going to be asked to go apple picking or leaf peeping. May I suggest utilizing a combination of your DVR, iPad and phone? First things first, record the Formula 1 race. You can shave a few minutes off the total race time and you can sleep in a bit. Second, fire up NFL Red Zone on your tablet or phone. I know it’s not the same as watching your 60 inch TV, but you can put in some good face time while also keeping an eye on “Every touchdown from every game.” No one said it’s going to be easy. You are going to have to fight tooth and nail to capture that perfect lazy Sunday. So good luck & God’s speed.
